Piano Accompanist for Church Adult Choir

Hours: 4-5 hours/week

General Job Description:

The primary mission of the church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Worship is an essential practice of growing disciples as they learn to glorify God and are sanctified by God’s presence in corporate worship. The Life Choir accompanist provides musical leadership for Linglestown Life in worship and musical arts. This is done through providing a spiritual presence in gathering times of practice and preparing worship. Therefore, the accompanist must be a follower of Jesus Christ.

This staff person should demonstrate proficiency in worship ministry and excellence in piano accompaniment. They will report to the life choir director, and work closely with staff and volunteers involved in worship. They must maintain confidentiality in all areas of job responsibility. Must complete/clear Criminal Background Check and Child Abuse Clearances.

Major Area of Responsibility:

The Life Choir accompanist will play piano for the Life Choir that sings three times a month (September-May) at the 8:30am Sunday worship service.

Specific Duties:

1. Be prepared for rehearsals with the music assigned and given by the Life Choir director for the choir to sing.
2. Attend and play piano for weekly rehearsals (currently Wednesdays at 6:30pm in sanctuary) of Life Choir, preparing choir for Sunday worship anthems.
3. Attend and play piano for choir anthem on Sunday mornings at the 8:30 worship service.
4. Work with Life Choir director and Lead pastor as necessary for smooth planning.
5. Perform other duties as negotiated and assigned if or when they become necessary for an excellent choral music ministry.
