Tax Supervisor

Job Overview
The Tax Office Lead/Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a high-performing tax preparation office in the Knoxville area (Maryville). This role delivers outstanding customer service and provides hands-on guidance to office staff.

Compensation

$25.00-$32.00 per hour + bonus ($4,500-$5,000 target)

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations and oversee staffing and scheduling, ensuring smooth workflow and consistent procedures.
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience by maintaining a service‐focused atmosphere that welcomes clients, meets their needs, and encourages repeat business.
• Prepare tax returns and assist staff with technical and procedural questions to ensure compliant filings.
• Recruit and train staff, ensuring the team is well‐prepared, supported, and continuously developing the skills needed to deliver high-quality service.
• Ensure compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of tax preparation experience.
• Proven experience in roles with supervisory responsibilities .
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and tax preparation software.
• Must be able to obtain a Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).

Schedule

Full-time position during January-April tax season. Part-time from May-December; hours depending on office volume.
