About the Role

At Schilling Tire & Auto, we take pride in keeping our Muenster community moving. We are looking for a skilled, versatile Automotive Mechanic who thrives on variety and solid problem-solving.

This isn't just a basic quick-lube gig—we handle all-around vehicle repair, ranging from standard gas-engine passenger vehicles to heavy-duty diesels. If you have hands-on experience with equipment beyond standard road vehicles—such as tractors, ATVs, UTVs, or ag machinery—you will be right at home here. The broader your toolset, the more valuable you are to our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform bumper-to-bumper diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on gas and diesel passenger cars, trucks, and SUVs.
• Troubleshoot complex engine, transmission, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks including brake jobs, suspension work, tune-ups, and alignments.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair auxiliary equipment (tractors, ATVs, side-by-sides, and utility machinery) as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while operating shop equipment responsibly.
• Clearly communicate repair needs and diagnostics to ensure customers get honest, top-tier service.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven hands-on experience as an automotive technician/mechanic.
• Solid working knowledge of both gas and diesel engines.
• Strong diagnostic capability using modern scanning tools and equipment.
• Bonus / Preferred: Experience servicing tractors, farm equipment, ATVs, or powersports vehicles.
• Must own a basic set of professional tools (specialty tools provided by the shop).
• Valid Driver’s License with a dependable driving record.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a pride-in-ownership mindset.
