About this job
At General Plastics Manufacturing Company, we manufacture rigid and flexible polyurethane foam (LAST-A-FOAM®) and build-to-print composite parts for commercial, military, and aerospace customers — work we've done for over 80 years.
We're hiring an Inventory Control and Receiving Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of incoming materials, with cross-training into stores and quality inspection as you grow into the role. You'll start in Receiving, building mastery over inbound inspection and material intake, then cross-train into Stores and Inventory Control, and eventually Quality inspection. You'll join a small, close-knit team where receiving, stores, and quality work hand-in-hand to keep material flowing accurately onto the production floor.
Core Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and process inbound shipments against POs and packing lists; verify CoCs and Material Test Reports using precision instruments
- Document and quarantine non-conforming material and initiate NCRs
- Issue materials/kits and process transactions in the ERP system; maintain accurate inventory through cycle counting and location management
- Move materials plant-wide (hand truck, pallet jack, forklift, including the mezzanine) and coordinate with Production, QA, and Shipping
- 2+ years of receiving or inventory control experience
- Able to read technical documentation (blueprints, POs, CoCs)
- High school diploma/GED and valid driver's license
- Able to stand up to 8 hrs/day, climb stairs to the mezzanine, and perform fine-detail tasks
Preferred: Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM. Overtime available, with occasional Saturday work.
