Facility Maintenance Mechanic
Industry: Meat Processing
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Shift: PP 5:30 AM-2:00 PM
Overtime: Some overtime may be required as needed
Pay: $25.00/hour-$32.00/hour DOE
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and experienced Facility Maintenance Mechanic to join a busy meat processing facility. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for keeping production machinery and facility equipment operating safely and efficiently while minimizing downtime.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically skilled, dependable, and able to troubleshoot equipment problems quickly.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Repair and troubleshoot broken-down production machinery.
- Perform mechanical repairs, adjustments, and maintenance on production equipment.
- Perform minor electrical repairs and electrical fixture maintenance.
- Inspect machinery and equipment for potential issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance to help prevent equipment breakdowns.
- Respond quickly to machinery and production line issues.
- Help ensure all production lines run smoothly and efficiently.
- Work with production supervisors and employees to identify and resolve equipment problems.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
- Perform general facility maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area.
- Follow all company safety, sanitation, and food-processing procedures.
- Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in facility, industrial, or production maintenance preferred.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Basic electrical knowledge and experience with minor electrical repairs.
- Experience maintaining production machinery preferred.
- Ability to diagnose equipment problems and determine appropriate repairs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work around machinery for extended periods.
- Ability to safely lift and carry maintenance tools and equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to work around machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to follow required safety and sanitation procedures.
