Location: onsite Chicago, IL 100% M-F; looking for candidates that are currently local ONLY!

Type: Contract

Hours: 8-5 M-F (40 hour work week)

Pay: $48-49/hr w2

Length: 12 months-possibility to convert to full time

Screenings: tech prior to submission, full panel drug and background once hired

IV process: 2-3 rounds

+optional benefits, long term contract with ability to extend or convert to full time

Must Haves:

• 2-4 years experience in this capacity
• Minimum of Bachelors degree in CS or similar industry
• 2-4 years of professional software engineering experience
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
• Hands-on experience with AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, Dynamo, RDS)
• Solid SQL and relational database skills
• Front-end development experience with Angular
• Sound understanding of REST APIs, CI/CD, and Agile practices

Disqualifiers/Red Flags/Overqualifications:

• Consistent job hopping/ choppy tenure
• If candidate is not local but open to relocation on their dime and being there in office day 1, please make that clear on the resume.
• candidates who are already in a lead role and/or 10+ years experience

Typical task breakdown:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot
• Build responsive front-end interfaces with Angular
• Deploy, monitor, and optimize cloud-native applications on AWS
• Write efficient SQL queries and manage relational data for test data management workflows
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, well-tested features

Interaction with team:

• Overall team consists of 15 folks. Split into 3 smaller treams
• This role will be on 1 of those 3 teams and grow into the lead role eventually.
• This role could also end up becoming a full time employee.

• Helios Tools & Test Data Management team builds and maintains scalable internal tooling and test data platforms that power engineering productivity and data quality across the organization.
