Special Education Teacher - Homer, LA

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher focusing on early intervention with an opportunity beginning soon and extending through May 21, 2027. This position offers a part-time schedule—approximately 4 hours per day, 4 days per week—providing an ideal balance between professional fulfillment and personal time.

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with PreK and Kindergarten students, helping to shape their foundational years and supporting their learning journeys. Candidates must bring a deep understanding of special education procedures, the development and implementation of IEPs, and expertise in early childhood curriculum and instruction.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Louisiana SPED Early Intervention (Birth-5) Certificate (required)
• Demonstrated experience with early childhood education, specifically PreK and Kindergarten levels
• In-depth knowledge of IEP development, writing, and implementation
• Familiarity with early intervention best practices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted, individualized instruction to meet student IEP goals
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with special education procedures
• Cultivate a positive, supportive classroom environment focused on growth and inclusion
