Special Education Teacher in Homer, LA

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid Louisiana Special Education Early Intervention (Birth-5) Certificate required
• Demonstrated proficiency in special education processes, including IEP development and implementation
• Hands-on experience teaching PreK/Kindergarten students
• Familiarity with current early childhood curriculum and best instructional practices
• Compassionate, patient approach to engaging young learners
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with staff and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction in accordance with IEP goals
• Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to construct and review IEPs
• Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and staff regarding student achievements
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and growth
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with regulatory guidelines

Role Details:

• Part-time schedule: approximately 4 hours per day, 4 days a week
• Contract position through the end of the 2026-2027 school year
• Single-site role based at a local school
