About the Role

We are seeking an experienced MRI Manager to oversee daily MRI operations, lead a multidisciplinary technologist team, and ensure the highest standards of patient safety, imaging quality, throughput, and staff development.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity within a complex pediatric imaging environment. The manager will oversee multiple MRI systems and work closely with radiologists, MR physicists, department leaders, and executive leadership.



Key Responsibilities

MRI Operations

  • Oversee multi-site MRI operations, primarily at the main hospital location.
  • Manage operations across multiple MRI systems, including 1.5T and 3T magnets and an intraoperative 3T MRI.
  • Maintain efficient patient flow, throughput, quality, and operational performance.
  • Provide leadership on-call availability for operational escalations as needed.


Team Leadership & Development

  • Directly manage approximately 20 FTEs, including Lead MRI Technologists and frontline staff.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop technologists across varying levels of experience.
  • Support orientation and training, particularly for new graduates and junior technologists.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and establish clear expectations for staff accountability.
  • Foster a culture of professional growth, delegation, and ownership.


Quality, Safety & Patient Care

  • Serve as an operational and safety leader for MRI services.
  • Ensure compliance with MRI safety protocols, quality standards, and departmental procedures.
  • Manage complex pediatric MRI workflows, including high-volume general anesthesia and sedation cases.
  • Identify and address workflow bottlenecks while maintaining patient safety and quality.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, MR physicists, department managers, and executive leadership.


Required Qualifications

  • Active ARRT (MR) advanced certification required.
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
  • 5+ years of progressive healthcare management experience OR strong experience as a Lead MRI Technologist ready to transition into management.
  • Strong MRI technical knowledge and understanding of MR safety.
  • Experience with quality, throughput, and complex clinical workflows.
  • Strong communication, emotional intelligence, and conflict-management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, delegate, and hold staff accountable.
  • Ability to effectively lead a team with a wide range of experience levels.


Preferred Qualifications

  • MRSO certification through the ABMRS - highly preferred.
  • Pediatric MRI experience.
  • Experience managing general anesthesia and sedation MRI workflows.
  • Experience mentoring and developing multi-generational teams.
  • Multi-site imaging operations experience.
