Special Education Teacher - Painted Post, NY

What you'll need to succeed:

• Active New York State Teaching License with High School endorsement
• Current certifications qualifying you for an ED (Emotional Disabilities) classroom
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in a high school environment
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Commitment to collaborate with educational teams and adapt to diverse student needs
• Passion for guiding adolescents toward success through positive behavior supports

Key responsibilities in this assignment:

• Lead the HS ED classroom for 11th and 12th graders, delivering individualized instruction and support
• Develop lesson plans tailored to varied learning styles and emotional needs
• Foster a safe, structured environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth
• Implement IEPs and monitor student progress, maintaining accurate and timely documentation
• Work closely with support staff, families, and related service providers
• Uphold all district, state, and federal guidelines for special education
