Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Description

The Quality Inspector performs in-process and final inspections to ensure products meet defined quality, dimensional, and documentation requirements. This role verifies compliance with customer specifications, IPC standards, and internal quality procedures while working closely with production teams to identify, document, and resolve quality issues.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections to verify product quality, workmanship, dimensions, labeling, and compliance with customer specifications and IPC standards.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to ensure products meet customer, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Conduct first article inspections and document results in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
  • Utilize microscopes, scales, calipers, and other measuring equipment to identify defects and verify product conformity.
  • Inspect cable harnesses, crimping, and related assemblies to confirm they meet mechanical and electrical quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate quality records, including inspection reports, test data, and first article documentation.
  • Verify completion and accuracy of inspection reports and associated production documentation.
  • Communicate inspection findings clearly to production and quality teams and collaborate to resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Apply ISO 9001 quality system practices and Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to monitor and maintain product quality.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues and recommending corrective and preventive actions.

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in quality inspection and quality control in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation of engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Proficiency with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and mechanical inspection methods.
  • Hands-on experience performing in-process and final inspections, including first article inspections.
  • Ability to use microscopes, scales, calipers, and other measuring equipment to inspect and measure components.
  • Experience working within ISO 9001 quality systems and following documented procedures.
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to monitor and maintain product quality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word to maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports, and production documentation.
  • Strong communication skills to document findings clearly and collaborate effectively with production and quality teams.
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to identifying defects and verifying product conformity.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience inspecting cable harnesses, crimping, and related assemblies.
  • Experience in quality checks and quality assurance within a manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Comfort working with IPC standards and customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong documentation skills for recording inspection data and maintaining organized records.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Melbourne, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
