Job Title: Lead R&D Engineering Technician

Location: 201 West Queen Street, Southington, CT 06489 United States

Shift: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM

Pay rate: $40 to $43/hr on W2.

Job Summary

• Seeking a Lead Engineering Technician to support R&D, new product development, product testing, failure analysis, and laboratory operations.
• This role provides technical leadership, mentoring, and hands-on support to engineering technicians and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and train Engineering Technicians in laboratory testing and equipment use.
• Plan and conduct product testing, evaluations, and failure investigations.
• Develop, validate, and document test methods and laboratory procedures.
• Analyze test data and prepare technical reports and recommendations.
• Support NPD, product engineering, quality, and regulatory activities.
• Maintain laboratory documentation and testing capabilities.
• Support GMP, FDA, ISO, EHS, Lean, and 6S initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and external vendors.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/related field + 5 years relevant experience; OR Associate degree/technical certificate + 10 years engineering technician experience.
• Strong laboratory testing, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or training technical personnel.
• Knowledge of GMP, FDA, ISO 9001, and medical device quality systems preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.
• Medical device or regulated manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and work in a laboratory environment.
