Civil Journeyman Carpenter

About this role

We are hiring a Civil Journeyman Carpenter based in Austin, TX to perform skilled carpentry work on civil construction projects. You will join a site crew and work on tasks that support concrete, formwork, and general civil framing. This is an on-site role across projects in the Austin area. You must be able to read plans, follow directions from foremen and superintendents, and maintain safety and quality standards while working with other trades.

What you'll do

• Perform journeyman-level carpentry: formwork, blocking, bracing, and general civil carpentry tasks
• Read and interpret construction drawings and follow site directions
• Install, repair, and remove concrete forms and related temporary structures
• Work as part of a crew to meet schedule and quality targets on civil projects
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and follow site-specific safety protocols
• Inspect finished work for quality and report discrepancies to supervision

What we're looking for

• Proven journeyman-level carpentry skills in civil or commercial construction
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and layout work from plans
• Strong rough and framing carpentry skills (formwork, blocking, bracing)
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safe work practices
• Comfort working on active job sites and collaborating with a crew

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Journeyman-level carpentry experience in civil/commercial projects
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• OSHA 10 (or higher) and basic first aid/CPR preferred
