$17 an hour / Monday - Thursday (7 am - 4:30 pm) Friday (7 am - 11 am) / Located in Mexia 

The Forklift Operator / Assembly Technician is responsible for safely moving tractors, parts, components, and materials throughout the facility while assisting with the assembly and preparation of tractors, equipment, attachments, and related products.
This position combines forklift/material-handling responsibilities with hands-on assembly work and requires attention to safety, quality, productivity, and organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a forklift to move tractors, parts, pallets, attachments, and other materials throughout the facility.
  • Perform pre-operation forklift inspections and report equipment problems or safety concerns.
  • Load, unload, stage, and organize materials for assembly and shipping.
  • Assemble tractor components and equipment according to work instructions, specifications, and supervisor direction.
  • Install components such as tires, steering wheels, mower equipment, attachments, and other tractor parts as assigned.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and other assembly equipment safely and properly.
  • Use an overhead hoist or crane when trained and authorized to do so.
  • Check completed work for proper fit, appearance, and quality.
  • Identify damaged, missing, or incorrectly fitted parts and report problems to the supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate build paperwork and update production information as required.
  • Keep the assembly and warehouse areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
  • Assist with inventory counts and locating parts and materials.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and OSHA-related practices.
  • Work cooperatively with assembly, warehouse, shipping, receiving, and other production employees.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous forklift experience preferred; forklift certification may be required or provided through training.
  • Previous manufacturing, mechanical, warehouse, or tractor/equipment assembly experience is preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn assembly procedures.
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to recognize problems and communicate them to a supervisor.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, and work around equipment throughout the shift.
  • Ability to safely lift and move parts and materials.
  • Ability to work around tractors, forklifts, overhead equipment, tools, noise, dust, oils, and other normal manufacturing/warehouse conditions.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift and maneuver large equipment in a warehouse environment.
