We are looking for a Patient Financial Access Facilitator to support front-end patient access operations for a healthcare organization in Orange, Connecticut. This Contract position focuses on delivering accurate registration, scheduling, and insurance verification services while helping patients move smoothly through the check-in and check-out process. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced setting, communicates clearly with patients and care teams, and maintains a high standard of accuracy when handling demographic, coverage, and payment information.


Responsibilities:

• Manage patient arrival and departure activities by completing registration tasks, confirming identity, and updating account details for each visit.

• Gather and maintain accurate demographic, insurance, and financial information to support timely service and clean claim submission.

• Schedule and adjust appointments based on provider availability, visit type, and patient needs while keeping appointment records complete and organized.

• Assist walk-in and add-on patients efficiently, ensuring visit information is entered correctly and services are coordinated without delay.

• Obtain required consents, signatures, and authorizations, and document all account activity according to departmental standards.

• Verify insurance eligibility, enter payer information accurately, and review coverage details to help support proper reimbursement.

• Collect copayments, outstanding balances, and initiate referrals for financial assistance or alternate funding sources when appropriate.

• Support patients who need additional accommodations, including individuals with language, hearing, or mobility barriers, to help ensure access to care.

• Monitor wait lists or recall lists and help fill open appointment slots to maximize scheduling efficiency and patient access.

• Experience in patient registration, medical scheduling, or a related healthcare access role.
• Working knowledge of insurance verification, benefit review, and patient financial intake procedures.
• Ability to enter demographic and payer information with a high degree of accuracy across multiple applications.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to assist patients professionally in a busy healthcare environment.
• Familiarity with collecting copays, reviewing account balances, and explaining basic financial information to patients.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with clinical staff, patients, and support teams to manage appointment flow.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow patient identification, authorization, and compliance procedures.
