Job Description
We are looking for a detail-focused Data Entry Clerk to join a transport organization in Carson, California. This contract opportunity supports sales operations through accurate record management, order documentation, invoicing support, and day-to-day administrative coordination. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with spreadsheets, business systems, and high-volume data tasks while maintaining consistency and precision. This position offers room to expand into billing and accounts receivable support based on performance and aptitude.
Responsibilities:
• Input and maintain customer profiles, order details, and shipping data across internal business systems with a strong focus on accuracy.
• Examine sales documents for completeness and confirm key details such as item numbers, quantities, pricing, discounts, serial information, and delivery notes.
• Create and submit invoices on a daily basis, then confirm records have been processed correctly.
• Keep billing and shipping information current and organized to support smooth order fulfillment and customer service.
• Investigate missing or inconsistent information, resolve data discrepancies, and update records in a timely manner.
• Record order progress, including backorders, split shipments, and special handling instructions, so teams have clear status visibility.
• Coordinate with sales, customer service, warehouse, logistics, and finance teams to address exceptions and keep orders moving forward.
• Prepare spreadsheets, data summaries, and administrative reports while assisting with file organization, cleanup projects, and other clerical support tasks.
• Support shipment coordination activities such as pickup scheduling, delivery confirmations, and communication of order updates when needed.• Experience performing high-volume data entry with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work confidently with spreadsheets, computer-based record systems, and routine administrative processes.
• Strong typing skills and comfort entering both text and numeric information efficiently.
• Ability to review documents carefully, identify errors, and correct inconsistencies in a timely manner.
• Effective communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and resolving order-related issues.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards.
• Prior experience in order processing, invoicing, office administration, or related support work is preferred.
