CV Resources is supporting a growing, innovative client in the technology and manufacturing space to identify a hands-on Senior Accountant to join their Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take ownership of core accounting functions while helping build scalable processes and financial infrastructure within a growing organization.
The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, solutions-focused accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, can navigate complex accounting challenges, and is comfortable taking ownership while also mentoring and supporting junior team members.
Key Responsibilities- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, allocations, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Own and maintain revenue recognition processes and supporting schedules.
- Facilitate monthly revenue review meetings.
- Track bookings, contract modifications, discounts, and other changes impacting revenue.
- Maintain deferred revenue and unbilled revenue schedules.
- Analyze project estimates compared to actual results and coordinate updates as needed.
- Monitor billing activity and revenue forecasts to support accurate financial reporting.
- Manage the full-cycle lease accounting process, including Right-of-Use assets and corresponding lease liabilities.
- Prepare monthly journal entries related to rent expense, lease amortization, and interest.
- Perform monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations for lease-related accounts and accruals.
- Manage payroll accrual and labor allocation processes.
- Ensure labor is accurately coded and allocated to appropriate project and departmental cost centers.
- Reconcile payroll accruals and related accounts.
- Support project costing and financial analysis initiatives.
- Oversee day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Process vendor invoices and payments.
- Monitor collections and support timely customer payments.
- Record and reconcile deposits and cash receipts.
- Ensure compliance with purchasing and payment procedures.
- Serve as a primary accounting contact during annual audits.
- Prepare schedules, documentation, and responses for auditor requests.
- Assist with annual tax filings and related compliance activities.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and accounting consultants.
- Prepare and post audit-related journal entries as needed.
- Provide guidance, training, and oversight to Staff Accountants.
- Review accounting work for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Delegate assignments as needed to ensure accounting objectives, deadlines, and reporting requirements are achieved.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
- Assist with implementation and optimization of accounting systems and technology.
- Support ad hoc reporting, financial analysis, and special projects.
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with QuickBooks or a comparable ERP/accounting system.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA, CPA candidate status, or other relevant accounting certification.
- Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems.
- Experience with revenue recognition and contract accounting.
- Experience with lease accounting and complex agreements.
- Experience supporting external audits and financial statement preparation.
- Prior experience leading, mentoring, or supervising accounting staff.
- Experience working in a high-growth manufacturing, technology, or startup environment.
- Experience with process improvement, internal controls, and accounting system implementations.
- Experience with government or federally funded programs is a plus.
