Job Description
The General Laborer performs a wide range of physical tasks on job sites, including loading and unloading materials, cleaning work areas, digging trenches, and operating basic equipment. This role supports skilled tradespeople and helps ensure that daily operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently across the site.
Responsibilities- Perform site preparation tasks by clearing hazards, debris, and obsolete materials to maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Dig trenches and level ground as directed to support construction, installation, or maintenance activities.
- Set up barricades, warning signs, and other safety indicators to protect workers and the public and to clearly mark work zones.
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials, supplies, and tools using dollies, wheelbarrows, or by hand.
- Organize and stage materials and tools so that skilled tradespeople can access what they need quickly and efficiently.
- Clean work areas regularly, including sweeping, removing waste, and organizing equipment to maintain an orderly job site.
- Operate basic equipment and tools safely and according to instructions, under the guidance of supervisors or skilled tradespeople.
- Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate protective equipment to minimize risk of injury.
- Assist skilled tradespeople with general tasks as needed, ensuring projects progress on schedule.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, carrying, digging, and standing for extended periods.
- Experience with general labor tasks, including loading and unloading materials, cleaning work areas, and material handling.
- Capability to dig trenches, level ground, and perform basic site preparation work.
- Basic ability to operate simple tools and equipment safely under supervision.
- Strong awareness of safety practices, including the use of barricades, warning signs, and safe material handling techniques.
- Reliability and punctuality to support daily operations and project schedules.
- Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and skilled tradespeople accurately and efficiently.
- Previous experience on construction or industrial job sites is an asset.
- Familiarity with using dollies, wheelbarrows, and similar material-handling equipment.
- Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to learn new tasks and support different trades as needed.
- Strong teamwork skills and a cooperative attitude when working with diverse crews.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
