The New York office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP is looking for a Financial Data Analyst Intern to support the Finance & Accounting Team. Willkie is an elite international law firm of approximately 1,300 lawyers located in 16 offices in six countries. 

 

The Financial Data Analyst Intern will gain valuable hands-on experience in a law firm environment. The Intern will have the opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a real-world environment, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to meaningful projects within our Business Systems & Financial Analysis team. This position is ideal for students who are passionate about financial/data/business analytics and eager to learn from professionals in the field. This is a full-time, six-month engagement running from January 2027 through June 2027.

  • Assist with report cleanup and organization of our Tableau site.
  • Become knowledgeable on how accounting metrics are stored in the database structures and schemas.
  • Analyze accounting and financial data to solve business related queries.
  • Coordinate with various teams (i.e. Attorneys, Billing Coordinators, Pro Bono Team, HR etc.) to identify
  • areas where we can leverage data to enhance workflows.
  • Prepare and update reports for month-end and morning-after close procedures.
  • Ensure data accuracy and quality by verifying reporting metrics against multiple sources.
  • Utilize data tools such as Tableau, Excel and SQL to streamline current manual reporting processes.
  • Create SOPs for routine reports and procedures.
  • Currently enrolled in Baruch College Cooperative Education Program.
  • Strong academic record and relevant coursework in finance, accounting, analytics, and computer science.
  • Experience in Tableau and Excel reporting as well as querying databases.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Preferred Skills:

    • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

    • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to sit at a desk most of the working day and walk short distances
  • Needs manual dexterity, speed and accuracy in handling office equipment
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption
  • Ability to work in close proximity to other individuals
  • Ability to carry light [to moderate] objects, e.g., files, small objects and supplies a short distance.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and move objects up to 15lbs.

USD $25.00 - USD $28.00 /Hr.

The pay range for this role represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications and location.


This position is an hourly role and benefits eligibility will be more limited. Candidates should direct questions about benefits to the hiring manager for clarification as needed.
