Occupational Therapist
 
Currently seeking reliable Occupational Therapists for locations in the Garden City Union Free School District.  Multiple positions available.  The ideal candidate will be licensed in NYS as an OT and possess 1 year of experience.
 
Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist 
 
  1. Address client’s aspects of performance to support engagement in occupations that affect health, well-being and life quality.
  2. Select and adapt the appropriate per case occupational therapy treatment model, method and approach to direct the process of interventions.
  3. Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL)
  4. Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components.
  5. Assess client’s home and other environments and advice on alterations consistent with their needs and capabilities.
  6. Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use.
 
Requirements of the Occupational Therapist
 
  1. Associate’s degree
  2. Must be licensed in NYS as an OT 
  3. 1 year of experience
