Childcare Floater

This position is a full-time role that offers a rewarding and challenging work environment. As a Floater, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to providing exceptional care and education to children. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work well in a team environment, and be able to adapt to a fast-paced setting. The position requires flexibility, as the Floater will be working a 10:00-6:00 pm schedule, Monday-Friday.

Duties

• Collaborate with Teachers and Supervisors to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for children, promoting a sense of belonging and encouraging participation in curricula activities.
• Take an active role in daily activities, maintaining the organization, cleanliness, and availability of classroom materials, and ensuring they are readily available for use.
• Model positive behaviors, promoting self-help and good hygiene among children, and reinforce these habits through consistent reinforcement.
• Facilitate a smooth daily transition from home to childcare center, setting a positive tone for the day.
• Comply with all center policies and state regulations, adhering to the highest standards of quality and excellence.
• Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge, contributing to the continuous improvement of quality care and education.
• Ensure the classroom remains organized and clean, with all materials in their designated place.

Requirements

• Ability to work well with others.
• Must have a clear full background check.
• Ability to stand 3 - 4 hours at a time, sit on the floor, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs.
• High energy.
• Immediate availability.
• Be willing to work until 6:00 pm Monday thru Friday.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, basic computer skills, and an understanding of child development.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Desirable qualifications include:

• Experience working in a childcare or classroom setting within a childcare or school environment, ideally for a minimum of one year.
