Mankato, Minnesota

The Opportunity

You'll own the full product development lifecycle for new electronic and electrical products from initial concept through production release — not just maintaining what already exists, but building what's next. This is a hands-on design role with real end-to-end ownership: schematic creation, prototyping, design iteration, and everything in between.

If you're tired of touching one piece of a product and handing it off, this role puts the whole build in your hands.

Why You'll Love This Role

You'll independently manage project timelines, budgets, and quality targets — this isn't a role where decisions get made for you three levels up. You'll design, fabricate, and evaluate both rapid and conventional prototypes, then see your work through feasibility studies, competitive testing, and design qualification.

You'll work across the full hardware stack, collaborating directly with manufacturing, operations, and outside suppliers on tooling, assembly, and capacity planning. That means your designs aren't just theoretical — you're involved in making them manufacturable.

Relocation is fully paid if you're coming from outside the area.

What Your Week Looks Like
  • Leading electronic/electrical design work from concept through production, including schematics and prototyping
  • Writing product specifications, test plans, and verification documentation
  • Troubleshooting complex electrical and electronic issues during development and post-production
  • Generating Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and maintaining engineering documentation
  • Coordinating with manufacturing and suppliers on tooling and capacity planning
What We're Looking For
  • BSEE, BSET, or equivalent degree
  • 5+ years of electrical design engineering experience, ideally in consumer products
  • Strong command of schematic reading and design tools — simulation, analysis, and CAD
  • Hands-on experience taking a product from napkin sketch to manufacturable design
  • Solid grasp of financial modeling and NPD (new product development) processes
  • Sharp analytical instincts paired with clear communication skills
Why Candidates Say Yes
  • True end-to-end ownership — concept through production release
  • Hands-on, full-stack hardware development, not a narrow slice of the process
  • Direct involvement in manufacturability, not just design in isolation
  • Fully paid relocation
