Step into a day where your craft shapes real-world results. As a Structural Fabrication Welder-Fitter on our team, you’ll translate drawings into durable metal assemblies that meet tight tolerances and high safety standards. You’ll work alongside supportive teammates who value precision, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Schedule

First Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

A Day in the Role

You begin by reviewing fabrication drawings and weld symbols, planning your fit-up sequence, and setting parameters for FCAW/SMAW. Through the day you’ll tack, fit, and weld components, confirm measurements, and validate quality against specs. You’ll keep your area organized, collaborate with your supervisor to stay on schedule, and troubleshoot any fit or weld challenges that arise.

What You’ll Do
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine weld sizes, sequences, and materials.
  • Perform Flux-Cored (FCAW) and stick (SMAW) welding for precise fit-up and strong, consistent welds.
  • Assemble metal components and structures with exacting attention to alignment, squareness, and tolerances.
  • Inspect finished work to verify quality and compliance with all requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment, following established procedures and best practices.
  • Coordinate with team members and leadership to hit project milestones.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues encountered during fitting and welding.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; a welding-related technical certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience as a welder-fitter with a portfolio of completed projects.
  • Proficiency across multiple welding processes and related equipment.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety protocols in a welding and fabrication setting.
  • Fluent in reading and interpreting blueprints, weld symbols, and technical documents.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong problem-solving ability.
  • Clear communicator and collaborative team player.
