Starting Salary: $80,000/year (higher based on experience)
We are seeking an Electrical Systems Integration Engineer to support the design, installation, testing, and integration of electrical systems used in power-generation equipment. This role combines engineering, production support, testing, and technical guidance for electrical teams.
Key Responsibilities- Review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, layouts, and specifications
- Support electricians with training on schematic interpretation, installation, testing, and labeling
- Work with Sales Engineering on electrical designs, proposals, specifications, and NEC requirements
- Inspect and functionally test completed equipment before shipment and resolve defects or discrepancies
- Establish recommended electrical component layouts and installation methods
- Provide technical direction and hands-on training related to electrical equipment, tools, and work practices
- Develop and coordinate electrical cross-training programs for production employees
- Perform electrical load calculations and other standard engineering computations
- Develop electrical drawings and Bills of Material (BOMs) and specify required equipment
- Review third-party electrical materials and coordinate requirements to support project schedules
- Design and build control panels for basic electro-mechanical systems
- Perform functional and indication testing and basic programming of electrical equipment, including displays, sensors, and HMIs
- Use electrical test equipment such as multimeters and amp meters
- Work with customers and internal teams to identify and resolve electrical issues before equipment ships
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, quality, and safety
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field
- 3+ years of experience involving electrical equipment design, installation, and testing
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering blueprints
- Knowledge of AC/DC electricity and electrical theory
- Thorough understanding of power-generation equipment, including:
- Generators
- Transformers
- Switchboards
- Controllers
- Circuit breakers
- Motors
- Heating units
- Conduit systems
- Knowledge of current National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Experience with electrical test equipment and functional testing methods
- Ability to design and build control panels for basic electro-mechanical systems
- Fuel-system integration experience is a plus
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Professional customer-service skills and ability to work effectively with customers and coworkers
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions
- Some travel to job sites as needed
- Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods
- Ability to travel between local facilities as needed
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while managing multiple priorities
