Job Description

Non-Invasive Cardiology | West Virginia University Heart and Vascular Institute

All Academic Ranks | MGMA-Based Compensation | Free Family Tuition at WVU

The WVU Heart and Vascular Institute is adding a Non-Invasive Cardiologist to a team of surgeons, interventionalists, medical cardiologists, radiologists, and vascular specialists delivering cardiovascular care across West Virginia and beyond. This is a full academic appointment with teaching, research, and clinical responsibilities, backed by university resources and a program that performs procedures not available anywhere else in the state.

Practice Details:

  • Comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic cardiology care for patients with cardiovascular disease
  • Collaborative team spanning cardiac surgery, non-invasive and interventional cardiology, radiology, and vascular medicine
  • Active teaching role with medical students, internal medicine residents, and cardiology fellows
  • Clinical research opportunities with university support and the expectation to present findings at national meetings

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Generous compensation structured in accordance with MGMA guidelines
  • Comprehensive benefits including health coverage, retirement plan, and CME
  • Free tuition at West Virginia University campuses for eligible family members
  • J-1 and H-1B visa sponsorship available

Candidate Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board Certified in Cardiology with valid medical licensure
  • All academic ranks are considered, including Assistant, Associate, and full Professor, based on experience and academic standing

Life in the Ohio River Valley:

The Ohio River Valley region of West Virginia offers a pace of life and a cost of living that are genuinely difficult to find in academic medicine. Affordable housing, scenic landscapes, and easy access to outdoor recreation along the river and surrounding hills make it a comfortable place to put down roots. Morgantown and Pittsburgh are both within reasonable driving distance for broader city access, and the academic community at WVU adds a layer of energy and connection that smaller markets rarely offer.

A respected academic platform, a collaborative cardiovascular program, and a region that makes the salary go further. Apply today.
