Detail Manager

 


in Midland, MI is looking for a motivated, dependable Detail Manager
 to lead our vehicle detailing operations and ensure every vehicle meets our high standards before it reaches a customer. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who takes ownership of the department, holds a high standard for vehicle presentation, knows how to get the best performance from a team, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, train, schedule, and motivate the vehicle detailing team.
  • Oversee daily detailing operations and ensure vehicles are completed on schedule.
  • Inspect completed vehicles to ensure they meet dealership standards for cleanliness, presentation, and quality.
  • Establish and maintain efficient detailing processes and workflow.
  • Coordinate vehicle priorities with the Sales, Service, Used Car, and Management teams.
  • Ensure new and used inventory is properly cleaned and presentation-ready.
  • Monitor and maintain detailing supplies, equipment, chemicals, and inventory.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized detail area.
  • Ensure team members follow proper procedures for cleaning interiors, exteriors, engines, wheels, and other vehicle surfaces.
  • Address quality-control issues and ensure vehicles are reconditioned appropriately.
  • Track productivity, turnaround times, and department performance.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Follow all dealership safety policies and applicable environmental and chemical-handling procedures.
  • Hands-on detailing and leading by example.



Qualifications:

  • Previous automotive detailing experience required; supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and hold team members accountable.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple vehicles and deadlines in a fast-paced dealership environment.
  • Knowledge of professional vehicle cleaning products, tools, and detailing techniques.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with other dealership departments.
  • Dependable, punctual, and professional.
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, and work on vehicles for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work outdoors or in varying temperatures when necessary.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
