Description

American Traveler seeks an Inpatient Rehab Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and 2-3 years of Inpatient Rehab Facility experience for a hospital-based rehabilitation unit.

Details

  • Hospital-based Inpatient Rehab Facility (IRF) unit located on the 9th floor with 28 patient beds within a 396-bed hospital
  • Daily caseload averages 6.5 patient contact hours out of an 8-hour shift, with individual treatment sessions ranging from 30 to 60 minutes
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8s from 8:00am to 4:30pm
  • Occasional weekend shifts required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Primary assignment is Inpatient Rehab Program with potential to float to Acute Care based on census needs
  • Uses Epic EMR for charting

Requirements

  • Current South Carolina SLP license required (if applicable)
  • BLS and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) certifications required
  • 2-3 years of experience as an SLP with Inpatient Rehab Facility experience required
  • Experience with NMES (Vital Stim) and Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies required
  • Must be willing to obtain and wear a radiation badge, provided by the agency
  • Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers accepted with prior Inpatient Rehab Facility experience
  • Scrub color requirement: Misty Grey (light grey/silver)
  • No parking costs at this facility
  • Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility are not accepted
  • Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration
  • Block scheduling requests may be accommodated but are not guaranteed
  • During hurricane season (June through November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response duties
