About this job
The Office of Communications & Marketing is responsible for leading communications and marketing that align with Cummings School's Strategic Vision 2030 and support campus partner business goals including recruitment, retention, reputation, philanthropy, events, awareness, and outreach. The Office develops, creates, and manages both internal and external communications content across digital platforms (website, email marketing, digital signage, social media, digital asset management system, virtual tour, etc.) and print communications (annual magazine, recruitment brochures and flyers, advertising, etc.) focused on our primary audiences (prospective and current students and faculty, referring veterinarians, clinic/hospital clients, donors, community partners). The Office is the school lead on brand management and messaging and marketing systems training and support (campus calendar, photography/videography requests). The Office coordinates and collaborates with Cummings School senior leadership, University Communications and Marketing, Tufts PR/Media team, Tufts Technology Services, Cummings School Advancement Team, and various other university departments and functions.
This is an opportunity to lead communications and marketing for a nationally recognized veterinary school at the intersection of science, medicine, education, and animal health.

What You'll Do
- Researches, writes and oversees the production of high-quality, effective communications materials which support communications projects and strategies for school/division
- Manages the creation, design and layout of publications which reinforce brand and message strategy
- Oversees the development of design and content for website; ensures compelling website appeal and works with web developer on enhancements and new applications
- Develops and oversees content for social media communications; evaluates effectiveness and makes decision about improvements and new initiatives
- Presents reports on overall communications strategies; evaluates results and proposes future directions and strategies
- Hires, trains and oversees professional and support staff, students and temporary workers
- Manages and negotiates budgets
- Manages hiring, evaluation and oversight of outside vendors and consultants
- Works with senior leadership on special projects such as Annual Reports, Accreditation, and other communications projects that support school or division agendas
What We're Looking For
Knowledge and experience typically acquired by:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related area of study
- 10 plus of professional communications experience
- Advanced degree
- Experience in higher education
Pay Range
Minimum $118,800.00, Midpoint $148,500.00, Maximum $178,200.00
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
