Chatham's Internal Finance teamislooking to add an organized, inquisitive, andmotivatedAR Specialist to the team.The primary focus of this role will be leading the company'saccountsreceivable collection processes and potential related technology enhancements, as well as involvement in various improvement initiatives across the broader order-to-cash process.

In this role you will:

  • Monitor customer accounts anddevelopcollectionsstrategies foroverdue balances.

  • Contact customers via phone, email, and written correspondence to collect outstanding payments.

  • Assistwith the posting ofcustomer payments within the accounting system.

  • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, short payments, and billing disputes.

  • Reconcile customer accounts andmaintainaccurateaccount records.

  • Review aging reports and prioritize collection activities.

  • Prepare collection status reports and provide updates to management.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolveinvoicingand payment issues.

  • Maintain documentation of collection activities and customer communications.

  • Recommend accounts for escalation, payment plans,orwrite-offs.

  • Support month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.

  • Identifyand implement technology enhancements to help improvecollectionskey metrics.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

  • Assistwith various aspects of order-to-cash improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and accounts receivable processes.

  • Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.

  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of credit and collectionsbestpractices.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience with cash application and payment posting.

Performance Metrics

  • Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)

  • Bad debtexpense as a percentage of sales

  • Past Due A/R

  • Cash collection targets

  • Accuracy of payment application and account reconciliations
