This is a permanent opportunity to own the field execution of high-spec interiors and shell/core work, driving quality, safety, and schedule on mission-critical facilities. You’ll be the on-site authority, coordinating subcontractors and trades to bring technically demanding designs to life.
About the Role:
As Construction Superintendent, you will oversee day-to-day site operations for data center projects, with a focus on interiors, shell/core, floors, ceilings, conveyance systems, and structural steel. You will manage field activities from mobilization through close-out, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to specification. Working closely with project management and subcontractor teams, you will be accountable for field performance and delivery of a fully operational facility.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for data center projects, including interiors, shell/core, floors, ceilings, conveyance, and steel work.
* Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and trades, ensuring scope, sequence, and quality of work meet project plans and specifications.
* Develop and maintain short-interval schedules, track progress, and adjust field operations to meet overall project milestones.
* Enforce site safety programs and compliance with OSHA and company standards, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.
* Review drawings and specifications, identify field conflicts, and collaborate with project engineers and managers to resolve issues.
* Conduct daily site walks to monitor workmanship, enforce quality standards, and verify adherence to design details and tolerances.
* Manage site logistics, including material deliveries, laydown areas, access routes, and equipment utilization to optimize productivity.
* Lead and document daily reports, subcontractor coordination meetings, and inspections, supporting accurate project records and communication.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent on large commercial or industrial projects; data center experience strongly preferred.
* Strong background managing subcontractors and multi-trade coordination on complex, fast-track jobs.
* Demonstrated expertise in interiors, shell/core construction, structural steel, and architectural finishes.
* Hands-on experience overseeing installation of floors, ceilings, and conveyance systems within high-performance facilities.
* Solid understanding of construction sequencing, site logistics, and field scheduling tools.
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical details for building systems.
* Track record of maintaining high safety standards and enforcing safety policies on active construction sites.
* Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to direct field teams and collaborate with project management.
Desirable Skills:
* Direct experience delivering mission-critical or data center projects with strict uptime and reliability requirements.
* Familiarity with MEP coordination in data centers, including integration with structural and architectural elements.
* Experience working in live or partially operational facilities with heightened security and access controls.
* Proficiency with construction management software for reporting, documentation, and field coordination.
* Background managing QA/QC processes specific to high-tolerance environments and technical spaces.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
* OSHA 30-hour certification strongly preferred.
* Additional safety or superintendent-specific training and certifications are an advantage.
* Valid driver’s license and ability to work full-time on-site in the Phoenix, AZ area.
If you’re a results-driven Superintendent with a passion for complex data center work and leading subcontractor teams in the field, we encourage you to apply and take the next step in your career.
