Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery

Location: Allen, TX 75013
Unit: Maternal/Newborn
Contract Duration: 17 Weeks

Shift Details

• Shift: Night Shift
• Hours: 12-hour shifts
• Start Time: 6:30 PM
• Weekends: As needed
• Holidays: As needed

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery for a 17-week contract. The RN will primarily provide care within the Labor & Delivery unit and must be comfortable working in a maternal/newborn environment.

Depending on patient census and operational needs, the RN may be required to float to the Mother/Baby unit and provide newborn care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor and delivery.
• Monitor maternal and fetal status and promptly identify changes requiring intervention.
• Perform patient assessments and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
• Assist with labor, delivery, and related obstetric procedures.
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies according to orders and facility protocols.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Float to the Mother/Baby unit when L&D census is low.
• Provide appropriate newborn care while assigned to the Mother/Baby unit.
• Follow patient-safety, infection-control, and facility policies.
• Participate in weekend and holiday coverage as required.

Requirements

• Current, active RN license.
• Minimum 2+ years of recent Labor & Delivery experience.
• Strong maternal/fetal assessment and clinical judgment skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced L&D environment.
• Willingness to float to Mother/Baby and care for newborns when required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Active, valid Driver’s License must be included in the submission packet.

Additional Information

• Primary assignment will be Labor & Delivery.
• Floating to Mother/Baby may be required based on L&D census.
• Newborn-care responsibilities may be assigned while floating.
• Weekend and holiday coverage may be required based on operational needs.
