Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist for an acute care hospital's Cardiac Cath Lab, requiring 2+ years of cath lab experience and ACLS/BLS/RCIS certification.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 304 staffed beds
• Diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab, including abdominal/pelvic and vascular procedures
• 4 to 5 labs run per day with 2 CVTs per lab, averaging 20 cases per day
• 4x10 hour day shifts, typically 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM but may vary until procedures are complete
• On-call required: one weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun) per month plus a call shift and evening shift every week
• Holiday coverage as needed
• No floating between service lines or to sister facilities
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• RCIS (CCI) certification required, registered or in process
• ARRT certification accepted as alternative to RCIS
• South Carolina RN license required if applicable
• Community hospital experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Proficient in coronary diagnostic and interventional procedures, including scrubbing and monitoring
• Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures including left/right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, cardiac stent placement, and rotablator atherectomy
• Experience with vascular studies, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, embolization, and IVC filter placement preferred
• Familiarity with PACS, Fuji Vidistar, and MAC Lab equipment preferred
• Radiation badge required, to be provided by the agency
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, accurate patient monitoring, and assisting with vascular and structural interventions
• Hospital-issued scrubs provided for Cath Lab staff
• During hurricane season (June through November, peak August-September), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• First-time travelers may be accepted depending on qualifications
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis within a 60-mile radius, though non-local candidates are prioritized
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed and depends on facility approval
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application for consideration
