HVAC Commercial Project Manager/Mechanical Project Manager

ASTAR Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electric is seeking an experienced HVAC Commercial Project Manager / Mechanical Project Manager to oversee commercial HVAC projects from planning through completion.

This position is ideal for a strong leader who understands commercial HVAC construction, knows how to keep projects moving, and can effectively coordinate field teams, general contractors, superintendents, vendors, and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage commercial HVAC projects from start through completion.
• Supervise, support, and coordinate HVAC field technicians, installers, and crews.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with General Contractors, Superintendents, Project Managers, vendors, and other trades.
• Manage daily and weekly workflow, manpower, scheduling, and project priorities.
• Ensure projects remain on schedule and meet established deadlines and milestones.
• Coordinate manpower across multiple projects based on workload and project needs.
• Review and understand mechanical plans, blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
• Coordinate and monitor material needs, equipment, deliveries, and jobsite requirements to prevent project delays.
• Communicate project changes, scheduling conflicts, material issues, and field concerns with appropriate parties.
• Monitor project progress and identify potential issues before they impact deadlines.
• Conduct jobsite visits to verify progress, workmanship, safety, and project requirements.
• Coordinate with other trades to ensure HVAC work is completed efficiently and according to project schedules.
• Maintain clear communication between the field, office, General Contractors, and project leadership.
• Assist with change orders, project documentation, material tracking, and project closeout as needed.
• Hold field teams accountable for productivity, quality, safety, and completion expectations.
• Help ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to ASTAR's quality standards.

Qualifications

• Commercial HVAC experience strongly preferred.
• HVAC Technician Experience is a PLUS!
• Previous experience in HVAC, mechanical construction, commercial construction, or project management preferred.
• Experience supervising or coordinating field technicians and installation crews.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and installation processes.
• Ability to confidently read and interpret mechanical blueprints, plans, specifications, and schedules.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable communicating directly with GCs, Superintendents, Project Managers, vendors, and field personnel.
• Ability to identify problems, make decisions, and keep projects moving in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of material coordination, manpower planning, scheduling, and workflow.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between local project sites as needed.
• Language: Bilingual preferred

You should be comfortable balancing people, projects, materials, schedules, blueprints, and customer relationships while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

Preferred Experience

Commercial HVAC experience is highly preferred. Candidates with hands-on commercial HVAC field experience who have progressed into a Lead, Foreman, Superintendent, Project Manager, or Mechanical Project Manager role are strongly encouraged to apply.
