Job Description
You will lead group Yoga and/or Pilates classes, offer private or semi-private sessions as scheduled, keep the studio space ready, and support a consistent, high-quality member experience. You may teach mat, reformer, or mixed formats depending on your training and our schedule.
This is a studio teaching role, not a medical or physical-therapy position. Stay within your certification and refer members with medical concerns to appropriate professionals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching & Member Care
• Teach scheduled Yoga and/or Pilates classes on time, with clear verbal cues and safe progressions
• Welcome students, take a quick check-in for injuries or limitations, and offer modifications
• Build intelligent sequences that match the class level (beginner, all-levels, intermediate, restorative, etc.)
• Demonstrate with good form; assist or adjust only when trained and when the member is comfortable
• Offer private or dual sessions when booked, with goals agreed in advance
• Encourage consistent practice and suggest workshops, packages, or memberships when helpful
Studio Space & Safety
• Arrive early to set mats, props, music, temperature, and lighting
• Wipe and reset equipment (mats, blocks, straps, reformers, towers) between classes
• Follow studio cleaning and equipment-maintenance protocols
• Know emergency procedures and when to stop a class for safety
Studio Operations
• Clock in / confirm attendance in the studio software
• Communicate schedule changes early so coverage can be arranged
• Uphold a professional, inclusive, and calm studio culture
• Coordinate with front desk on class capacity, waitlists, and special events
• Represent the brand with a polished, approachable presence
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Current Yoga teacher training certificate (e.g., 200-hour RYT or equivalent) and/or recognized Pilates certification (mat and/or reformer)
• Liability insurance covering group and private instruction (or ability to obtain before start)
• Strong cueing, sequencing, and modification skills for mixed-level classes
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable teaching in a spa or boutique wellness setting
• CPR / First Aid preferred or willing to obtain
• Availability for [class times], including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience teaching in a spa, boutique studio, gym, or wellness center
• Additional training: restorative, yin, prenatal, aerial, reformer, Cadillac, chair, or barre
• Comfort leading workshops, intro series, or private packages
• Background in anatomy, movement science, or complementary modalities
