Environmental Technician II

Shift: 1st Shift | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $20.00/hour

Job Summary

The Environmental Technician II is responsible for supporting daily waste and recycling management activities at the site. This role ensures waste, recyclable materials, and chemicals are properly collected, separated, stored, and labeled in accordance with site procedures and safety requirements.

The Environmental Technician II will also operate a forklift, support employee training on proper waste disposal and recycling practices, and communicate any operational or safety concerns to WM management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all waste and recycling bins are emptied throughout the day.
  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently as required.
  • Properly separate, collect, store, and label waste, recyclable materials, and chemicals.
  • Follow all site safety, environmental, and waste-management procedures.
  • Communicate with employees across departments to provide guidance and training on proper recycling and waste-disposal practices.
  • Support the proper handling and management of waste generated during the production process.
  • Identify and report operational, environmental, or safety concerns to WM management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must have steel-toed boots. Remaining required PPE will be provided by the site.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established safety procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with employees across multiple departments.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with waste and recycling collection and handling.

Required Training & Pre-Employment Requirements

Vendor-Scheduled:

  • 24-Hour HAZWOPER Training — must be completed prior to starting.

Client-Scheduled:

  • HAZWOPER Physical — must be completed prior to starting.
  • Audio/Hearing Test — must be completed prior to starting.
