We are seeking an experienced Struct & Payload Design Engineer 4 to support the design, integration, certification, and production of aircraft structural and payload/interior systems.
This role works across the full product lifecycle and involves collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, certification teams, program teams, and other technical groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements.
- Support structural and interior system and component design using 3D CAD and other engineering tools.
- Lead or support design integration, testing, validation, and verification activities.
- Provide engineering support and project leadership within a production environment.
- Work directly with aerospace suppliers and customers to support design and program objectives.
- Support regulatory compliance, certification activities, and interactions with regulatory authorities.
- Support aircraft cargo compartment and cargo handling system design, integration, and/or certification.
- Support design for manufacturing and production integration.
- Investigate technical issues and develop engineering solutions throughout the product lifecycle.
- Work with cross-functional teams to manage schedules, risks, technical issues, and project requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Civil, or Materials Engineering.
- 9+ years of engineering experience, including design, integration, certification, or a combination of these.
- Aerospace or aircraft engineering experience.
- Experience with structural design, aircraft interiors, payload systems, cargo systems, or related aerospace products.
- Experience working with engineering, manufacturing, production, suppliers, or certification teams.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with FAA 14 CFR Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent requirements.
- Aerospace interiors experience, including materials, design criteria, and engineering release processes.
- Experience with aircraft cargo compartments or cargo handling systems.
- Experience with design for manufacturing and production integration.
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering projects.
- Experience with aerospace suppliers or airline customers.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively to different audiences.
