We are seeking an experienced Struct & Payload Design Engineer 4 to support the design, integration, certification, and production of aircraft structural and payload/interior systems.

This role works across the full product lifecycle and involves collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, certification teams, program teams, and other technical groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements.
  • Support structural and interior system and component design using 3D CAD and other engineering tools.
  • Lead or support design integration, testing, validation, and verification activities.
  • Provide engineering support and project leadership within a production environment.
  • Work directly with aerospace suppliers and customers to support design and program objectives.
  • Support regulatory compliance, certification activities, and interactions with regulatory authorities.
  • Support aircraft cargo compartment and cargo handling system design, integration, and/or certification.
  • Support design for manufacturing and production integration.
  • Investigate technical issues and develop engineering solutions throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to manage schedules, risks, technical issues, and project requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Civil, or Materials Engineering.
  • 9+ years of engineering experience, including design, integration, certification, or a combination of these.
  • Aerospace or aircraft engineering experience.
  • Experience with structural design, aircraft interiors, payload systems, cargo systems, or related aerospace products.
  • Experience working with engineering, manufacturing, production, suppliers, or certification teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with FAA 14 CFR Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent requirements.
  • Aerospace interiors experience, including materials, design criteria, and engineering release processes.
  • Experience with aircraft cargo compartments or cargo handling systems.
  • Experience with design for manufacturing and production integration.
  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering projects.
  • Experience with aerospace suppliers or airline customers.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to different audiences.
