About this job
Job Description
You will deliver customized spa massage and body treatments, complete guest intakes, keep rooms spa-ready between appointments, and help guests choose the right service, upgrade, or ritual. This is a hospitality-driven spa role, not a clinical or medical-massage position.
A current state massage therapy license is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Spa Treatments & Guest Care
• Welcome guests warmly and complete a discreet intake: goals, pressure, areas of focus, allergies, and contraindications
• Perform spa massage services such as Swedish, relaxation, deep tissue, hot stone, aromatherapy, prenatal, couples, and signature rituals you are trained in
• Provide body treatments as trained: scrubs, wraps, scalp treatments, or add-on upgrades on the spa menu
• Customize pressure, pacing, music, scent, and draping so the service feels personal and luxurious
• Check guest comfort throughout the treatment and adjust immediately
• Offer simple aftercare and suggest packages, memberships, or retail when they enhance the guest’s visit
Treatment Room & Spa Standards
• Set the room before each guest: linens, table, lighting, temperature, music, and amenities
• Reset and sanitize the room quickly and quietly between appointments
• Maintain oils, lotions, hot stones, and spa products; report low stock
• Protect the spa atmosphere — low voices, privacy, and on-time starts and finishes
Spa Operations
• Chart services in the spa booking software
• Stay on schedule so the front desk and the next guest are not waiting
• Uphold guest privacy, professional boundaries, and spa hygiene standards
• Coordinate with reception on special requests, late arrivals, and walk-ins
• Represent the spa brand with a polished appearance and calm, gracious service
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Active, unrestricted Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) credential in TX
• Graduation from an accredited massage therapy program
• Current professional liability insurance (or ability to obtain before start)
• Confident Swedish and deep-tissue technique with excellent draping and body mechanics
• Ability to perform consecutive 50–80 minute spa services
• Warm hospitality skills, punctuality, and a professional spa presence
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Prior experience in a day spa, hotel spa, resort spa, or luxury wellness spa
• Training in hot stone, aromatherapy, prenatal, couples massage, reflexology, or signature body rituals
• Comfort recommending upgrades and retail without a hard sell
• Knowledge of spa etiquette and high-end guest service
