Caregiver Responsibilities

Responsibilities vary depending on the client’s needs and may include:

• Providing companionship and emotional support
• Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Preparing meals and assisting with feeding
• Providing mobility and transfer assistance
• Offering medication reminders
• Performing light housekeeping and laundry
• Providing transportation to appointments and errands
• Supporting clients with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, hospice needs, or other age-related conditions
• Communicating professionally with clients and their families

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous caregiving experience
• Compassionate, dependable, and professional
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to pass a background check
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Current automobile insurance
• CNA, CPR, First Aid, dementia-care, or related certifications are preferred but not always required

Employment Structure

Caregivers listed with Hallmark Homecare are independent contractors who work directly for their clients. Caregivers determine which opportunities they accept and negotiate their schedules, duties, and compensation directly with the client or family.
