About this job
Job Description
Production Manager – Small Manufacturer / Liquid Coffee Extraction
Leadership
We’re looking for a strong leader who runs a tight ship. Someone who sets a clear standard and holds it, leads from the floor rather than an office, and keeps the plant organized, the equipment maintained, and the crew accountable.
The Life That Comes With It
If you’re ready to leave big city life behind, this job gets you out. We’re in [town, state] — a small community with a short commute, [nearby feature] out the back door, and neighbors you’ll actually know.
Staff and HR Management
• Train, supervise, and evaluate crew members, and hold them to a consistent standard
• Manage employee relations and maintain a collaborative floor where people take ownership of their work
• Work alongside the crew to hit production targets
Hands-On Production
• This is a working role — expect to be on the floor and on the equipment daily, not behind a desk
• Run the line alongside the crew and fill in on any position as needed
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues to minimize downtime
• Perform and schedule preventive maintenance on production and packaging equipment
• Handle end-of-run changeovers, CIP, setup, teardown, and maintenance
• Implement and oversee manufacturing procedures, and keep the crew running to them
• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs and stand on concrete for a full shift
Supply Chain and Vendor Management
• Control inventory to maintain optimal supply levels — accurate counts, nothing running short, nothing overstocked
• Use inventory systems and Excel to track and report
Problem-Solving
• Identify operational issues early and resolve them before they spread
• Assess risk and put mitigation measures in place
Facility and Grounds
• Supervise warehouse organization, cleanliness, and order
• Oversee upkeep of outside grounds
Required Experience
• Minimum 5 years managing employees, preferably in small-scale manufacturing
• Mechanical aptitude for equipment troubleshooting and repair
• Strong computer skills, including Excel and inventory control systems
• Facility maintenance supervision — warehouse organization and grounds upkeep
• A track record of running an organized operation and raising the standard of the one you inherit
