About the Opportunity
A hospital in Roslyn, NY is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment, starting ASAP. This role supports the cardiovascular operating room, providing skilled perioperative nursing care during open-heart and cardiovascular surgical procedures.

The ideal candidate has dedicated CVOR or open-heart operating room experience and thrives in a high-acuity, fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct perioperative nursing care during CVOR and open-heart surgical procedures
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and equipment for cardiovascular surgeries
• Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures and respond to changes in condition
• Collaborate with cardiovascular surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical care team
• Document patient care and procedures accurately per hospital and regulatory standards
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association – AHA)
• ACLS certification required (American Heart Association – AHA)
• Minimum 1-2 years of dedicated CVOR or open-heart operating room experience required
