Location: Site varies depending on the project
Pay: $30–$38/hour (based on experience)
Duration: 6 Months to Long-Term Opportunity
Industry: Commercial & Industrial Steel Construction
We're is seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator to support active commercial and industrial steel construction projects throughout the DMV area. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring OSHA compliance, conducting jobsite inspections, and supporting field operations to maintain a safe work environment.
This position requires someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and experienced in construction safety, particularly within steel erection, rigging, and material handling operations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily jobsite safety audits and inspections.
- Monitor field crews to ensure OSHA and site-specific safety compliance.
- Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and safety training sessions.
- Assist with incident investigations, reporting, and corrective action implementation.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and fall protection equipment.
- Coordinate with Superintendents, Foremen, and project leadership regarding safety concerns.
- Assist with new hire orientations and safety onboarding procedures.
- Maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance records.
- Identify and mitigate hazards related to steel erection, rigging, crane activities, and material handling.
- Promote a positive safety culture across all project sites.
Requirements:
- OSHA 30 Certification (Required).
- Minimum 2 years of construction safety experience preferred.
- Steel construction experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
- Understanding of fall protection, rigging, crane safety, and steel erection practices.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout the DMV area.

- Commercial and industrial construction sites.

- Exposure to active construction operations, heavy equipment, and changing weather conditions.
