Maintenance Technician

Location: Asheville, NC

We are hiring a Maintenance Technician to join a reputable manufacturing facility in the Asheville area. This is a hands-on role where your expertise directly impacts production efficiency, equipment reliability, and overall plant performance.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical equipment.
• Troubleshoot production equipment to minimize downtime and restore operations quickly.
• Complete assigned maintenance work orders and accurately document repairs using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Perform routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance rounds.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance calls.
• Assist with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to eliminate recurring equipment failures.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and assist with electrical and automation issues.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify replacement parts and recommend improvements that increase equipment reliability.
• Communicate maintenance activities and equipment status with production and leadership teams.

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Technical degree, industrial maintenance certification, or equivalent training preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment.
• Working knowledge of:
• Electrical systems
• Motor controls
• PLCs and industrial automation
• Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Mechanical power transmission
• Ability to troubleshoot using electrical testing equipment, meters, and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Safety-focused with excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Physical Requirements

• Primarily hands-on manufacturing environment.
• Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, lifting, reaching, and working around industrial equipment.
• Occasional computer work for maintenance documentation and work order management.
