MARINE BOATMAN - TRAVEL REQUIRED

Dredgit is hiring experienced Boatmen to operate and maintain workboats supporting dredging operations on active marine job sites. This is a hands-on role for someone comfortable running a boat, positioning heavy marine equipment, and directing deckhands on the water.

Responsibilities

• Operate workboats to position dredges, barges, and floating pipeline
• Handle mooring lines, cables, and anchors during equipment moves
• Direct and assist deckhands with rigging, line handling, and pipe moves
• Read water conditions, currents, and channels to navigate safely around jobsite hazards
• Assist with installation, moves, and basic repairs of dredge pipe and pontoon line
• Fuel, grease, inspect, and perform routine maintenance on boats, dredges, pumps, and related equipment
• Assist Levermen and other crew as directed
• Complete daily equipment and vessel inspections and follow all company safety procedures

Requirements

• Valid driver's license
• Prior experience operating workboats, towboats, or similar vessels in a marine, dredging, or industrial setting
• Willing and able to travel extensively and stay out of town for extended periods
• Able to work long shifts outdoors in heat, cold, rain, mud, and other jobsite conditions
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform physical work including climbing, bending, pulling, and standing for extended periods
• Comfortable working on and around water, boats, and heavy equipment
• Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn
• Dredging, marine, construction, oilfield, industrial, or heavy-equipment experience preferred

Travel
This position requires travel.
