Early Childhood Special Education Teacher

This contract role is based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with West Baton Rouge Parish Schools and serves Head Start and Pre-K students. With a small caseload of just 4 students, this position offers an excellent opportunity to provide individualized support and build meaningful relationships with students and staff. What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
• Valid Louisiana Special Education teaching certification or eligibility for certification
• Ability to work full-time in an early childhood/Pre-K setting
• Experience working with young children with special needs preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Compassionate and student-focused approach to supporting diverse learning needs
• Commitment to creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction and specialized support to Head Start and Pre-K students with special needs
• Develop and implement appropriate instructional strategies based on individual student needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and school staff
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational records
• Communicate effectively with families and caregivers regarding student development and progress
• Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young students
