Job Description
Step into a rewarding role supporting students in an inclusive, nurturing environment. Two contract positions are available for Special Education Teachers at innovative learning centers, focusing on Autistic Support classrooms with the assistance of dedicated Personal Care Assistants. These onsite opportunities begin immediately and extend through May 27, 2027, ensuring a rich, stable experience for passionate educators.
You’ll work Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., surrounded by a supportive team committed to student growth and individualized success.
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate (Special Education endorsement required)
- Experience working with students with autism and utilizing current best practices in special education
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with classroom staff and PCAs
- Energetic, patient, and compassionate approach to meeting diverse learning needs
- Skilled in adapting curriculum and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Creative problem-solver with a dedication to fostering life skills and academic growth
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging academic and functional lessons tailored to students’ needs
- Collaborate closely with PCAs, related services, and parents/guardians to maximize student progress
- Create and maintain a structured, positive classroom atmosphere
- Collect and analyze data to drive instructional decisions and document student growth
- Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary teams, and ongoing training
- Support students’ social-emotional development and behavior management plans
