Job Position: Industrial Maintenance Technician
Location: New Berlin, WI 53151
Direct Hire opportunity!!!!!
Pay: $30–$40/hr + Shift Premium
Shift available: 3rd Shift: 8pm–4am Monday–Friday (+$4 shift premium)
Position Summary
We're hiring Industrial Maintenance Technicians to maintain and repair mechanical and electrical equipment/systems, ensuring safe and efficient production operations. This role is critical to hitting production targets while maintaining food safety and quality standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform maintenance, inspections, PMs, and installs on production mechanical and electrical systems
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using testing devices and technical schematics
Execute repairs on mechanical and electrical production equipment and systems
Install new mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards
Assist with upgrades to existing mechanical and electrical systems to improve efficiency and reliability
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards, including food safety protocols
Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, and inspection records using a CMMS system
Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and ensure seamless operations
Respond promptly to mechanical and electrical emergencies to prevent production interruptions
Perform preventive maintenance on production and facility equipment
Perform routine housekeeping and adhere to established safety procedures
Other duties as required
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in electrical technology preferred
3–5 years of experience as an industrial maintenance technician, preferably in food processing or manufacturing
Skills & Qualifications
Strong mechanical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Effective PC skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word)
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Strong math skills — whole numbers, fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages, basic algebra and geometry
Ability to solve practical problems in situations with limited standardization
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands for fine motor tasks
Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, or reaching above shoulders
Frequent push/pull/lift up to 15 lbs; occasional push/pull/lift up to 100 lbs
Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment
Work Environment & Safety Equipment
Operates hand/power tools, metal fabrication equipment, welding equipment, plumbing equipment, and measuring tools
Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes/airborne particles, and toxic/caustic chemicals; moderate noise level
Required PPE: steel-toed shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses
