Job Description
This part-time Clinical Research Coordinator position offers an opportunity to support an active clinical trial in Manassas, VA. Working 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, you will focus on patient recruitment and study enrollment while ensuring adherence to protocol and regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with participants and research staff, using your hands-on clinical research experience, strong organizational skills, and confident communication style to drive successful study outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Review medical charts thoroughly to determine eligibility against defined study criteria.
- Pre-screen potential participants using electronic medical records and study-specific requirements.
- Educate potential and enrolled participants about the clinical trial, including procedures, expectations, and protocol requirements.
- Conduct follow-up communications with participants to support retention and ensure protocol compliance.
- Schedule in-person study visits and follow-up appointments, and send reminders and relevant information to participants.
- Coordinate patient recruitment activities to meet enrollment goals for the clinical trial.
- Document interactions and study-related information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) and study systems.
- Collaborate with research staff to support smooth study operations in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience working as a Clinical Research Coordinator.
- At least 2 years of patient recruitment experience in a clinical research setting.
- At least 2 years of experience working with electronic medical records (EMR).
- Formal training in HIPAA regulations and patient privacy.
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training and understanding of clinical research standards.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with participants and research staff.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow protocols accurately in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience conducting chart reviews to assess eligibility for clinical trials.
- Experience in pre-screening patients for clinical studies.
- Familiarity with clinical trial recruitment strategies and participant retention practices.
- Comfort working with clinical research documentation and study workflows.
- Ability to build rapport with patients and encourage continued participation in the study.
Work Environment
This role operates during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, for approximately 20 hours per week. The environment is fast paced and detail oriented, with a strong focus on accurate chart review, effective use of electronic medical records, and timely communication with participants and research staff. You will work in a professional clinical research setting where adherence to HIPAA, GCP, and study protocols is essential.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
