A well-established nonprofit human services organization is seeking a Clinician to join its Behavioral Health team as a Functional Family Therapist (FFT), working to support children and youth ages 0–21 and their foster and bio families.

\n

\n

As a clinician in this role, you'll have the opportunity to support kiddos in placement and help families strengthen relationships, address challenges, and build the skills and stability needed to move toward reunification and permanency. This is meaningful, relationship-driven clinical work for someone who wants to see the impact of what they do beyond the walls of an office.

What You'll Do:

\n

You'll provide intensive, strengths-based clinical services to children, youth, and families involved with the child welfare system.

\n

\n

You'll:

\n

\n
• Develop meaningful therapeutic relationships with children, youth, foster families, and biological parents.
\n
• Provide therapy and clinical support in homes and community settings.
\n
• Help families address behavioral, relational, and emotional challenges that may affect stability and reunification.
\n
• Assess family strengths, dynamics, risk factors, and protective factors.
\n
• Develop individualized treatment plans focused on sustainable change.
\n
• Support biological parents as they build skills and strengthen relationships with their children.
\n
• Help foster families support the emotional and behavioral needs of children in their care.
\n
• Support children and families during periods of transition, crisis, and uncertainty.
\n
• Collaborate closely with Child Welfare staff, county partners, schools, behavioral health providers, foster parents, and other members of each child's support system.
\n
• Help families develop strategies to maintain progress and stability over time.
\n

Licensure

\n

Candidates must be licensed or license-eligible in New York as one of the following: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or LCAT. Candidates eligible to practice under a New York State Limited Permit are also encouraged to apply.

\n

Recent graduates of MSW, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, and Creative Arts Therapy programs are encouraged to apply. Relevant graduate internship experience working with children, youth, and families is valued.

\n

Schedule & Work Environment:

\n

This is a full-time, Monday–Friday hybrid/community-based position designed around the needs of the children and families we serve in the Capital Region. Some evening hours are expected so clinicians can meet with families after school and work. Your work week will generally include:

\n

• Approximately 50% of your time in the community, providing services primarily in foster family homes, as well as biological homes and other appropriate settings as deemed appropriate for treatment. Mileage reimbursement is provided at the Federal rate.
\n
• 20-25% of your time in the Albany office, collaborating with colleagues and program partners.
\n
• Opportunities to work remotely to complete administrative and documentation responsibilities.
\n
• A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.
\n

Salary:

Starting salary is based on licensure and relevant post-license experience:

\n

\n
• Limited Permit: $70,500
\n
• Fully Licensed LMSW, LMHC, LMFT or LCAT with less than 2 years of relevant post-license experience: $73,000
\n
• Fully Licensed with 2+ years of relevant post-license experience: $75,500
\n
• Fully Licensed with 5+ years of relevant post-license experience: $79,000
