We are seeking a professional, detail-oriented Bilingual Employee Relations Specialist to join our Human Resources team. This position provides administrative and operational support for employee relations, compliance, and leave administration while ensuring the accurate maintenance of employee records and adherence to company policies and applicable employment laws.
The Employee Relations Specialist will serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers and must demonstrate a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, sound judgment, and strong communication skills.
Requirements:- Support employee relations investigations by coordinating interviews, gathering documentation, maintaining investigation files, and tracking follow-up actions.
- Document employee conversations, coaching sessions, disciplinary actions, and investigation outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and complete employee personnel files and HRIS records.
- Process employee status changes, including promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and terminations.
- Coordinate and administer employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, NJFLA, paid family leave, military leave, ADA accommodations, and other applicable leave programs.
- Communicate leave rights and responsibilities and track required documentation, certifications, and return-to-work dates.
- Respond to unemployment claims and requests for separation information.
- Support HR compliance efforts, audits, reporting, onboarding, offboarding, and other HR initiatives.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2–4 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in employee relations, leave administration, or HR operations.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and applicable state leave laws.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
