A Snapshot of Your Day

This position is an addition to the Manufacturing team within Switchgears Jackson, created to ensure business continuity in production planning and material control. As an Entry Professional role, it will support the optimization of plant capacity and resource utilization in a manufacturing environment. To meet these objectives, this role focuses on two core areas: Production & Inventory Coordination and Capacity Analysis & Reporting. The responsibilities will involve executing material planning processes, monitoring production schedules, and gathering data to support senior planners in decision-making. Given the focus on foundational planning tasks, the ideal candidate will possess theoretical knowledge of supply chain principles, preferably gained through advanced education. Key requirements include basic analytical skills, familiarity with ERP systems, and the ability to work under close supervision to learn and apply company policies.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop and maintain production schedules aligned with demand forecasts, material availability, and operational priorities to support on-time delivery and efficient production execution.
  • Monitor raw material and component inventory through ERP systems, proactively identifying potential shortages or excess inventory to ensure uninterrupted production and optimized inventory performance.
  • Execute Material Requirements Planning (MRP) activities and coordinate with purchasing and logistics teams to ensure the timely availability, tracking, and flow of materials across the supply chain.
  • Analyze and compile production, inventory, and operational performance data to generate routine reports that support informed decision-making and continuous operational visibility.
  • Support capacity planning efforts by providing accurate resource utilization, throughput, and output data, helping leadership balance production demand with available capacity.
  • Identify, document, and communicate process inefficiencies and production planning insights, partnering with internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and adherence to production planning best practices.

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework, technical training, certifications, or experience in supply chain, manufacturing, operations, or business disciplines is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of production planning, inventory control, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and supply chain processes, with the ability to support efficient material flow and production execution.
  • Experience utilizing ERP platforms, preferably SAP, to manage production, inventory, purchasing, and planning activities while maintaining accurate data and supporting operational performance.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret production, inventory, and forecasting data, identify trends, and contribute to data-driven decision-making.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience through military service, work assignments, team lead responsibilities, internships, volunteer organizations, student activities, or other collaborative environments, with the ability to influence outcomes and work effectively across teams.
  • Understanding of manufacturing operations, production scheduling, Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement methodologies. APICS CPIM certification, or progress toward certification, is preferred and demonstrates a commitment to operational and supply chain excellence.
